BEHIND THE VILLAGE:

I was one out of 7,000 people diagnosed with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome. MRKH is a rare disorder that affects women during the fetal reproductive stage. Made up of a series of anomalies; this condition makes it difficult to identify. For 12 years post-puberty, I was the only female that had never had a menstrual cycle. I endured countless Doctors appointments that ended in a series of unanswered questions, misdiagnosis, and unsuccessful treatments. At the age of 30, an infertility specialist finally had an answer. It was a relief that brought on so much pain and sorrows all in the same breath. In September of 2020, at the age of 32, I had a hysterectomy. It was a reality that was hard to accept but needed to prevent health complications. While in recovery, I decided to embrace my pain and push into purpose. In February of 2021, I was Inspired to engage, educate, empower and help evolve people from pain to purpose. To show them that legacy is not biological….it’s eternal. You can still fulfill your dreams of building a family legacy to leave for the future of tomorrow!
